“Were we really five when we last saw each other?
A bit breezy here
A bridge with a view
… and new ones that weren’t around 15 years ago!
And a quick tour of Bath to finish the day
Today Jared & I went down to Bristol to meet some friends that we hadn’t seen since we left the UK in 1999. I have to say, apart from catching up on news, it was as though we had never been away. Or as if we still lived here and caught up a few times a year. It was a pity that we have such a short time here & only one chance to meet up, but it was a lovely day. Bristol was holding a food festival and it was the May Day Bank Holiday, so the city was alive with people, music & events. It was a sunny day – although Jared & I exchanged a glance when the comment was made about ‘what a warm day it was’. 19 or 20 degrees does not constitute ‘warm’ to us! Jared’s friend George (with whom he’d been friends when they were aged five) is studying in Bristol and was able to come to meet us as well. The boys chatted together non-stop for a couple of hours. No sign of any awkwardness or shyness at all!
And just to improve the already perfect day – the planned Tube strike was called off!
